It’s Alive!
UPDATED: The single-use bag bill that died a mysterious death last week has been revived.
Lawmakers sent it on to the Finance Committee on Tuesday.
However, according to the state government website, the bill has also been sent back to the Committee on Energy and Environmental Protection, which already passed the bill. It’s not clear why.
Rep. Coffman, who sponsored the bill said that his understanding was that it was in the finance committee and didn’t have to be voted on again in his committee.
Adding to the confusion, is that the version of the bill that has been sent to the finance committee doesn’t include the amendments added by the Committee on Economic Revitalization and Business.
“It’s as if the ERB hearing didn’t exist,” Coffman told Civil Beat.
Coffman said he wasn’t sure why this happened and was waiting for greater clarification.
